White House Releases Official Portrait of First Lady Melania Trump
The White House released the official portrait of First Lady Melania Trump on Monday.
Trump’s black and white portrait was captured by Belgian photographer Regine Mahaux in the Yellow Oval Room in the White House last week, according to a release sent to reporters.

In the portrait, Trump is sporting what appears to be a dark pantsuit and white blouse. The First Lady is posing with her hands positioned on a desk with a reflective surface and has a firm expression.
A silhouette of the Washington Monument is seen beyond Trump’s shoulder as it sits adjacent to a window of the Yellow Oval Room.
The black and white portrait marks the first time since Margaret Woodrow Wilson’s 1912 portrait that a first lady’s official portrait was black and white, according to the White House Historical Association.
The Yellow Oval Room, where Trump’s portrait was taken, has served many purposes over the course of different presidential administrations, including first as a drawing room in the John Adams administration and since as a library, office, and family parlor.
The oval-shaped room is located on the south side of the second floor of the White House.
Trump’s photographer, Mahaux, is a Belgian-born, world-renowned photographer and film director based out of Paris, France.
Mahaux is known for her work photographing some of the world’s most famous celebrities, politicians, businessmen, and royalties, including Robert de Niro, Lewis Hamilton, Karolina Kurkova, Roger Federer, Hilary Swank, Prince and Princess of Monaco, Rita Ora, Jean-Claude Van Damme, the Trump family, and others.
Mahaux also captured Trump’s official portrait in 2017. In that portrait, the First Lady sports a black tuxedo suit and smiles as she poses with her arms crossed.
