Voters: Let Each UN Country Decide Its Own Taxes

• While the UN is seeking to impose a global emissions tax, most (56%) voters say that each country should establish its own taxes.
  • Just half as many (28%) believe it is appropriate for the UN to impose taxes for all countries. 
• Most (57%) voters say that U.S. taxes should only be established by the U.S. government.
  • If the UN imposed a global emissions tax, but the agreement was not signed by the U.S. president or ratified by the U.S. senate, only 26% of voters say that the U.S. should be legally bound to impose the tax. 
• In line with other recent data collected on the UN, postgraduates think differently than the rest of America.
  • Forty-seven percent (47%) of postgraduates say the U.S. should be bound by the UN decision, compared to just 26% of those with a bachelor’s and 21% of those with no degree.

The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen August 4-5, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
