Trump Campaign Advisor Thanks Tennessee U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles for Support After Fainting on Stage During Event

Alex Bruesewitz, an advisor to President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign, thanked Tennessee U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) for staying by his side after fainting on stage during a New York Young Republican Club gala on Sunday night.

Video shared on social media of the event shows Bruesewitz fainting and toppling over the lectern while he was on stage introducing incoming White House senior aide Dan Scavino.

While it was not immediately clear what caused Bruesewitz to faint on stage, Raheem Kassam, the master of ceremonies for the event, reportedly later told the crowd that Bruesewitz was stable backstage.

On Monday, Bruesewitz spoke out about the “surreal experience,” saying, “We are back…Maybe I took my Joe Biden impression just a little too far.”

Bruesewitz went on to thank his “exceptional medical team” at New York Presbyterian Hospital, saying that the EMTs, nurses, and doctors provided him with “outstanding care,” in addition to the “great patriots” at the gala who “swiftly” came to his aid.

“A special thanks to Rep. [Ogles] for staying by my side until the medics took me to the ER,” Bruesewitz said.

“Lastly, thank you to everyone who prayed for me and sent heartfelt, thoughtful, encouraging messages. I feel truly blessed to be supported by such wonderful people,” Bruesewitz added.

Ogles replied to Bruesewitz’s post, saying, “Glad you are okay my friend!”

Following Bruesewitz’s fall during Sunday’s event, President-elect Trump called in to the gala, saying, “I know that Alex is going to be fine because he’s a tough son of a gun. There’s no doubt about that. So I want to say hello to Alex, because he’s a very special guy.”

Bruesewitz, who joined Trump’s team in August, is the CEO of X Strategies LLC, which lists its mission as helping elect America First candidates.
