This Easter: What Do Voters Say About Jesus?

As Easter approaches, the Christian holiday celebrating ressurection of Jesus Christ, Napolitan News conducted a survey asking voters their personal beliefs about Jesus and the holiday.

• Three quarters (74%) of registered voters say the man known to history as Jesus Christ actually existed and walked the earth.
  • Still, this is down 3 points from last Easter and down 9 points from 2024.
  • Just 31% of atheists say this statement is true.
  • Government employees are also among the most skeptical about the existence of Jesus; 38% say he did not exist or are not sure.
• Roughly 7 in 10 voters say Jesus was the Son of God (72%) and that he died for their sins (70%), while slightly over 6 in 10 say he physically rose from the dead* (63%).
  • Like belief in the man of Jesus, these statistics have also been trending downwards in recent years.
• One number that has not changed significantly since is the belief that Jesus walked on water (62%).
  • That number has stayed consistent for years.

*With all these statements, it is important to consider that not all voters consider these phrases to mean the same thing

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 30-31, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
