Thales College Marks Commencement of First Undergraduate Class

Thales College marked the commencement of the private institution’s first inaugural undergraduate class on Tuesday during a ceremony held at The Sutherland in Wake Forest, North Carolina.

Eight students who took advantage of Thales College’s accelerated 3-year bachelor’s degree program all graduated with degrees in a shared liberal arts major and professional majors spanning Entrepreneurial Business, Mechanical Engineering, and Classical Education.

Thales College Founder Bob Luddy said he is “extremely proud” of the graduates who make up the institution’s first inaugural undergraduate class.

“Our inaugural undergraduate class is a group of trailblazers who will be remembered forever at Thales College for their pioneering achievements, their strengths of spirit, and their embodiment of our core values,” Luddy added.

Thales College, which launched its undergraduate program in the Fall of 2022, combines “a classical liberal arts background and professional education with an engaged learning model and an emphasis on real world experience” in order to provide students with the necessary skills to “enter the workforce and begin contributing immediately,” according to its website.

The eight students who graduated on Tuesday, according to Thales College, are “graduating with opportunities for full-time, high-quality employment from both in- and out-of-state.”

“Our graduates are uniquely prepared for strong performances in their careers and have a head start on most of their peers in many ways—from the wealth of real-world work experience and wisdom they have attained during their time at Thales College as well as their clear financial and time savings,” Dr. Peter Forrest, Provost of Thales College, said.

“They have worked incredibly hard and are a grounded and gifted group of young adults that I am confident will be strong leaders in their communities and families,” Forrest added.

Thales College’s sister institutions – Thales Academy – has campuses across Tennessee, Virginia, and North Carolina and enrolls over 6,100 students from grades Pre-K through 12th grade.

The mission of Thales Academy institutions, according to its website, is to “provide an excellent and affordable education for students in Pre-K to 12th grades through the use of Direct Instruction and a Classical Curriculum that embodies traditional American values.”
