Tennessee U.S. Rep. Andy Ogles Reportedly Received Max Donation from Elon Musk over Judge Impeachment Efforts
U.S. Representative Andy Ogles (R-TN-05) is reportedly among the seven Congressmen who received a maximum personal donation from Elon Musk in response to the Tennessee Republican’s efforts to impeach judges who made controversial rulings which block the agenda of President Donald Trump.
Musk reportedly made the donations to Ogles and six other members of Congress on Wednesday, with the New York Times claiming Ogles received the maximum, $6,600 donation which Musk is allowed to send as a private citizen.
Ogles reportedly received the maximum donation from Musk alongside U.S. Representatives Eli Crane (R-AZ-02), Lauren Boebert (R-CO-04), Andrew Clyde (R-GA09), Derrick Van Orden (R-WI-03), and Brandon Gill (R-TX-26), as well as Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA), who the Times noted each “either endorsed judicial impeachments or called for some form of ‘action’ in response to recent rulings against the Trump administration.'”
For his part, Ogles filed articles of impeachment against both U.S. District Court Judge Amir H. Ali, who ruled last month that the Trump administration must release billions of dollars of grant money to foreign nonprofits, and District Judge John Bates, who days earlier Ogles’ office said ruled that the Trump administration must “restore radical LGBTQ propaganda on taxpayer funded websites.”
Ogles said last month that the judge’s order, “order demonstrates a purposeful disregard for President Trump’s authority, serial incompetence, and blatant weaponization of his bench,” and that Bates “joins the ranks of hundreds of political activists disobeying their oaths to score political points.”
The congressman stated, “The continued socialization of this grave moral evil necessitates immediate Congressional action against those promoting it. America’s founders gave Congress the authority to impeach judges to defend the will of the people. My articles will do just that.”
In a statement provided to The Tennessee Star, Ogles said he is “working tirelessly to enshrine President Trump’s agenda into law,” and that “Musk has taken on that same historic mission, cutting waste, boosting efficiency, and exposing fraud.”
Ogles added, “I’m honored to have his support and grateful for his relentless pursuit of truth and accountability.”
Musk, before Trump reentered the White House, threatened to fund primary campaigns against any Republican senators who attempted to block the president’s agenda. Trump benefited from at least $277 in political spending from Musk ahead of his victory last November.
