Support for the Iran War: A Timeline

Attacks were first launched on Iran on Febuary 28, 2026. Since Napolitan’s first survey on March 2, support has remained largely unchanged, anchored by President Trump’s base. In the first survey, 40% of voters supported the attacks. After 3 months, the average level of support is 39%.

Voters showed increasing signs of weariness in May. For the full month, 37% of voters supported the attacks, including a new low of 33% on May 13.

Roughly 8 in 10 Trump voters have supported the attacks for 3 months. Just over half of Traditional GOP voters supported the attacks at the beginning, but their support has fallen, and has not reached 50% since mid-March.
