‘She’s In Danger’: Mark Halperin Says ‘Things Aren’t Moving Right’ For Harris In Key Battleground States

Journalist Mark Halperin said Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris is on a poor trajectory in crucial swing-states.

Former President Donald Trump and Harris are neck and neck across the top seven battleground states, according to the RealClearPolling averages. Halperin, on his 2WAY platform, said the latest private polling he has seen shows Harris struggling and noted that both Democrats and Trump affiliates he’s spoken to agree that the former president is moving into a stronger position to win these states.

“I just saw some new private polling today that’s very robust … She’s in a lot of trouble … The conversation I’m having with Trump people and Democrats with data are extremely bullish on Trump’s chances in the last 48 hours. Extremely bullish,” Halperin said. “Think of the seven battleground states. Which ones is Harris in danger of losing? I would say Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia.”

“I’m not saying she’ll lose all six, but she’s in danger. The only one that the Democrats say she’s not in danger of losing is [Nevada] … She could lose any of those six, right?” he added. “I mean, she could lose all seven but Democrats will tell you they’re worried about those six. They’re less worried about the seventh. I don’t know any Trump person who says they’re worried about losing any of the seven.”

Halperin said the Trump affiliates do not necessarily believe “they’re the favorite in Michigan and Wisconsin,” but they are not panicking about them and think they are on a positive trajectory there. The journalist added they are confident they will secure the sun belt states of Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina and that they believe that they’re “stronger in Pennsylvania than [Harris].”

“You take any of the rust belt states away from her, it’s very difficult for her to win … It’s not mathematically impossible, but it probably won’t happen if she loses any of them,” Halperin said. “She can replace Pennsylvania with either Georgia, North Carolina and then one other of the sun belt states.”

Harris has launched a media blitz consisting of friendly interviews following Democratic Party concerns regarding her press avoidance. For instance, the vice president recently appeared on Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast, “60 Minutes,” “The View” and “The Howard Stern Show.”

“What I’m telling today is, things are not moving right for her. And if you think today’s interviews are going to fix it, then you’re optimistic about her performance in interviews where her best interviews are where nothing horrible happens,” he added. “She’s not driving a message.”

CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten said Tuesday that if Trump outperforms his 2024 polling by the same margin he did against President Joe Biden in 2020, he will secure sufficient battleground states to beat Harris by a large margin.

“Let’s say we have a polling miss like we had in 2020,” Enten said. “What happens then? Well, then Donald Trump wins the election in a blowout with 312 electoral votes because he carries all these Great Lake battleground states plus Nevada, plus the other states he was leading in — Arizona, North Carolina and Georgia.”
