‘Save Lives’: Tom Homan Tells Megyn Kelly Dems Should Cry For Victims, Not Deportations Amid Border Crisis
Border czar Tom Homan told SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly on Tuesday that Democrats crying over illegal migrants being deported should instead be crying for the victims affected by the border crisis.
Within his first week in office, President Donald Trump addressed the border crisis he had campaigned on, signing a series of executive orders on Jan. 20, including declaring a national emergency at the border and designating cartels as terrorist organizations. On “The Megyn Kelly Show,” Kelly questioned Homan about Democrats pushing back against Trump’s deportation plans, playing a clip of celebrity Selena Gomez crying in front of the camera and apologizing to her “people.”
“I wish she’d message Mexico and other countries that this isn’t a way to enter the country legally, right? Quarter of a million Americans are dead from fentanyl that comes across that border. I’m sure many are fans of hers. 600% increase in sex trafficking in women and children. There are women and children in this nation right now forced into sexual slavery. Some of these children won’t survive. So cry for them,” Homan said.
“Cry for the quarter of a million Americans who died from fentanyl. Cry for the families — thousands of families in this nation who had a permanent separation with their children because they were killed by illegal aliens and they buried them,” Homan added. “Help us secure the border, save lives, send a message out, this is not the way to come across the border.”
Gomez posted the video to her social media on Monday but later took it down after facing a wave of backlash over her stance. With the reversal of former President Joe Biden’s policies since Trump’s inauguration, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents can now arrest “criminal aliens,” including rapists and murderers.

More than 7 million illegal migrants are believed to have crossed under the Biden-Harris administration, with U.S. southern border encounters hitting record highs over the past four years. Homan went on to say that a “record number of Americans” have died due to fentanyl trafficking through the open border, adding that if Gomez wanted to cry, she should “cry for those who have suffered because of the open border crisis.”
“A secure border saves lives. When President Trump had illegal immigration down 90%, when 90% less people were coming, how many women did get raped by the cartels? How many children didn’t drown in that river? How many Americans didn’t die from fentanyl because the borders were tight and secure and the border was all on table? How many children weren’t found in pornographic movies and sex slavery?” Homan questioned. “How many women weren’t forced into sexual slavery and massage parlors throughout this country? How many cartel members didn’t make it into this country to spread their poison throughout the nation? Thousands of people died because of open borders. So help us. You got a big platform. Help us save lives. Secure border saves lives.”
“Those who enter the country illegally, they’re cheaters. As I said, there’s people in this world who are doing the right thing to come to the country the right way. These people are taking a front seat away from people who really deserve to come to this country,” Homan added. “Help us to send that message. A secure border saves lives. That’s where she should be putting her anger, her sadness, everything else. Help us. We can save lives together.”
With the backing of the Trump administration, ICE agents have conducted raids across the U.S., with video footage showing one Haitian migrant — reportedly a gang member with 17 criminal convictions in recent years — praising former Presidents Barack Obama and Biden as he was arrested. On Sunday, the ICE agency announced it had made 956 arrests, outpacing the Biden-Harris administration’s average of 310 arrests per day in fiscal year 2024.
