Popularity of Trans Issues Simply a Mirage
- A majority of Republicans (62%) and nearly half (45%) of Democrats believe that most Democratic voters support biological males playing in women’s sports. This is simply not true.
- In fact, just 32% of Democrats support men playing in women’s sports.
- On the left, nearly 6 in 10 (55%) of AOC-policy voters think men in women’s sports is the dominant view, compared to just 34% of Traditional Democratic voters.
- Similarly, a majority in BOTH parties believes that most Democratic voters support letting transgender people use the bathrooms of their choice.
- In reality, Democrats are divided on the issue: 42% support transgender bathroom choice, and 46% oppose it.
- Again, a solid majority (60%) of AOC-policy voters believe this view is dominant within the party, compared to 45% of Traditional Democratic voters.
- A solid majority of Republican voters say that Democratic political leaders support both transgender issues, though Democrats are less convinced about their politicians.
- Forty-three percent (43%) of Democrats believe most of their party leaders support men in women’s sports, while 44% disagree.
- Fifty-four percent (54%) of Democrats believe most of their leaders support transgender restroom choice, while 38% disagree.
- At its core, American voters are more unified than their politicians want them to believe.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 25-26, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
