Most Voters Want Individual Deportation Cases to be Reviewed

Just 38% say it is more important to deport all illegal immigrants than to review each case individually to determine whether a particular person should be allowed to stay. Fifty-nine percent (59%) say the opposite.

• If the government is trying to deport someone, just 15% believe that person should be allowed to wait anywhere he or she decides inside the United States while the case is being reviewed.

Sixty-four percent (64%) favor increasing federal spending to hire more judges and otherwise increase the resources available to reduce the backlog and speed up decisions on asylum and deportations.

• Just 25% are opposed.
