Majority Have Favorable View of UN, 26% Want To Leave

• Nearly 6 in 10 voters (57%) have a favorable opinion of the UN, down 4 points from last August.
  • A third (34%) disagree and have an unfavorable opinion.
  • These numbers include 21% who have a Very Favorable opinion and just 13% who have a Very Unfavorable one.
  • Republicans are split, narrowly having an unfavorable opinion by a margin of 47% to 44%.
  • Democrats have an overwhelmingly positive view of the United Nations by a margin of 73% to 17%.
• Fifty-seven percent (57%) also say the U.S. should continue to host the UN in New York, while 1 in 4 (26%) disagree.
  • Republicans are again split, while Democrats overwhelmingly say we should continue to host the UN.
  • Traditional Republicans prefer to continue hosting the UN, but Trump-Policy voters disagree.
• Half of voters (50%) say the US should stay in the UN, while 26% say we should leave.
  • Republicans want to leave by a margin of 43% to 35%, while a solid majority (63%) of Democrats want to stay.
  • As is often the case, postgraduates feel very differently than voters in general: 68% of postgrads say we should stay in the UN, compared to 47% of all other voters.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, April 29-30, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
