Just 38% Want To Live Where Guns Are Outlawed

  • Most voters (53%) prefer to live in a community where people are allowed to own guns, while 38% say they would prefer to live where guns are outlawed.
    • Those numbers have changed little over the past year.
  • Among the Elite One Percent,* 72% prefer to live in communities where guns are outlawed. 
    • At the same time, two thirds (65%) of the Elite One Percent – and 82% of Politically Active Elites** – think most voters agree with them on important issues.
*The Elite One Percent is defined as voters who have a postgraduate degree, live in a densely populated urban area, and earn at least $150,000 annually.
**Politically Active is defined as someone who talks politics at least most days.
