In Their Own Words: Economy Still Holds Top Spot in Important Issues List

  • The Economy remains in first place among voters’ most important issues.
    • When asked to respond in their own words, 34% of voters say the Economy is the most important issue.
    • With a combined total of 23%, Foreign Policy (10%), Iran (9%), and War (3%) take second place among top issues.
    • Politics (12%) is also a common issue at the top of voters’ minds.
    • For Republicans, the top issues identified as most important are the Economy (36%), Iran + Foreign Policy + War (24%), and Immigration (10%).
    • For Democrats, the top issues are the Economy (35%), Iran + Foreign Policy + War (19%), and Politics (16%).
  • There are many ways to ask about the importance of issues.
