In Their Own Words: Economy Moves Back to Most Important Issue

• For the last several weeks, the war in Iran had dominated concerns as the most important issue for voters, but the Economy has moved back to the top spot.
  • When asked to respond in their own words, 29% of voters say the Economy is the most important issue.
  • With a combined total of 25%, Iran (12%), Foreign Policy (10%), and War (3%) take second place among top issues.
  • Politics (10%) is also commonly at the top of voters’ minds.
  • For Republicans, the top three issues identified as most important were Iran + Foreign Policy + War (32%), the Economy (30%), and Immigration (11%).
  • For Democrats, the top issues were the Economy (29%), Iran + Foreign Policy + War (22%), Politics (12%), and Donald Trump (12%).
