In Their Own Words: Economy Holds Its Place as Top Issue

  • The Economy is still at the top of the list among voters’ most important issues.
    • When asked to respond in their own words, 31% of voters say the Economy is the most important issue.
    • With a combined total of 20%, Iran (9%), Foreign Policy (8%), and War (3%) take second place among top issues.
    • Politics (14%) is also a common issue at the top of voters’ minds.
    • For Republicans, the top issues identified as most important are the Economy (31%), Iran + Foreign Policy + War (22%), and Immigration (15%).
    • For Democrats, the top issues are the Economy (31%), Iran + Foreign Policy + War (18%), and Politics (17%).
  • There are many ways to ask about the importance of issues.
