Half Of Voters Oppose Taxpayer Dollars Going To NGOs

Half (50%) of voters want to prevent the government from giving taxpayer dollars to NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations). A Napolitan News Service survey found that 31% disagree.

It’s important to recognize that just 15% can correctly define what an NGO is, while an additional 5% at least know what the acronym stands for. Therefore, to collect meaningful responses, the survey needed to define what an NGO is. The definition provided stated, “A Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) is a nonprofit organization that receives government funding to carry out certain activities”.

A follow up question was asked about providing taxpayer money to support organizations that pursue objectives opposed by some taxpayers.  Just 33% of voters thought such funding was appropriate.

The Napolitan News Service surveys of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen December 3-4, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
