DC Voters See DOGE Differently Than The Rest Of the Nation

When it comes to DOGE and federal layoffs, voters in the National Capitol Region hold views significantly different from the nation at large. Fifty-five percent (55%) of voters in the National Capitol Region say DOGE has gone too far, while just 39% of voters nationwide think the same thing.

By a 63% to 33% margin, Capitol Region voters believe too many federal workers have been laid off. Voters nationwide are evenly divided: 43% say too many have been laid off, while 38% disagree.

Part of the gap can be explained by the fact that most voters in the Capitol Region (53%) personally know someone who has been laid off. Twenty-four percent (24%) of Capitol Region workers say they have felt a lot of impact on their own daily lives as a result of the DOGE cuts.
