81% Proud To Be American; 53% Say Best Days Still To Come

• More than 8 in 10 voters (81%) say that they are proud to be an American.
  • This is 4 points down from November of 2025, but slightly higher than August and almost identical to where it was a year ago at 82%.
  • Just 8% say they are not proud to be an American.
  • An incredible 96% of Republicans are proud to be an American, along with two-thirds (66%) of Democrats.
  • The least enthusiastic group, voters preferring AOC-type policies, still maintains a majority (54%) who are proud to be American.
  • Still, that number is down 11 points from November.
• More than half of voters (53%) also believe that America’s best days are still to come.
  • That is up from 1 point in November, with a peak of 57% in November 2024.
  • Twenty-nine percent (29%) disagree and say that America’s best days have come and gone, down 2 points from November.
  • Republicans believe the best days are still to come by a 67% to 19% margin.
  • Democrats are divided. A plurality (41%) believe the best days are still to come, while 37% say those days have come and gone.
• Currently, 47% of voters say America is the last best hope of mankind.
  • That is the first time that number has been under 50% since 2023.
  • Thirty percent (30%) say America is not the last best hope of mankind.
  • Republicans say America is the last best hope by a 65% to 14% margin.
  • Democrats disagree by a margin of 45% to 33%.
  • Younger voters are also not convinced; just 29% say America is the last best hope of mankind.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 11-12, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
