64% Say They Are Spending More

  • A large majority (64%) of registered voters say they are spending more than they were a year ago, including 26% who say they are spending Much More.
    • This number has hovered between 57% and 64% since February 2025.
    • Just 20% say they are spending less, about the same number since February 2025.
    • Fifteen percent (15%) say they are spending about the same amount as they were a year ago.
    • A majority of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents alike say they are spending more than they were a year ago.
    • Even many postgraduates (70%) and voters who talk politics every day (81%) are feeling the squeeze.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, May 26-27, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
