48% Say They Plan to Celebrate Valentine’s Day
- Almost half (48%) of voters say they will celebrate Valentine’s Day this year.
- More younger voters (56%) aged 18 to 34 will celebrate, while only 37% of voters over 65 say they plan to celebrate.
- Among those celebrating, most (62%) will go out to dinner.
- Forty-five percent (45%) say they will buy chocolates.
- About a third of celebrating voters will will give some other gift (34%), send a card (34%), or send flowers (32%)
- Fewer voters (9%) will take a trip.
- Among those voters who are celebrating, a plurality (36%) plan to spend between $50 and $100.
- About a quarter (25%) say they will spend less than $50.
- Another quarter (24%) plan to spend $100 to $250.
- Fewer (15%) plan to spend more than $250.
- Interestingly, more Democrats (73%) than Republicans (51%) plan to spend up to $100 for Valentine’s Day.
This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 9-10, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
