38% Say AI is Good for America

• Thirty-eight percent (38%) of registered voters say they use some form of artificial intelligence (AI) Most Days or Every Day.
  • One third of voters (32%) say they Rarely or Never use AI.
  • More voters ages 35 to 44 (57%) than voters over 65 (18%) say they use AI most days to every day.
  • Three out of 5 politically engaged voters (59%) say they use AI most days to every day.
  • Interestingly, most Americans might not realize that they are using AI when they use Google or another search engine to browse the Internet.
• Thirty-nine percent (39%) believe that AI programs like ChatGPT are at least Somewhat Good for America.
  • This is down 9 points from July 2025 but up 4 points from June 2023.
  • The same number (39%) believe AI is Somewhat to Very Bad, up 11 points from July 2025 and up 5 from June 2023.
  • More men (47%) than women (32%) agree that AI is good for America.
  • A majority (56%) of postgraduates say that AI is good for America.
• A plurality (43%) say letting companies develop AI programs with limited government regulation is a bigger risk than imposing strict government regulations that might allow countries like China to become the world leader in AI development.
  • One third (33%) disagree and say imposing strict government regulations is more risky.
  • Almost a quarter (23%) are Not Sure about this complicated topic.
  • Pluralities of Republicans (48%) and Democrats (42%) agree that letting companies develop AI with limited regulation is a bigger risk.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 9-10, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
