37% Say U.S. Is in a Recession

• Thirty-seven percent (37%) of voters say the country is currently in a recession, and 39% say it is not.
  • Two weeks ago, 33% said the country was in a recession, and 42% said it was not.
  • A plurality of Democrats (44%) say the U.S. is in a recession, while only 26% disagree.
  • Only 28% of Republicans say the country is in a recession, and 55% disagree.
• Among the 37% who say the U.S. is in a recession, 61% say it will not end in the next 6 months.
  • Conversely, among the 42% of voters who say we are not in a recession, 64% say the U.S. will not enter a recession in the next 6 months.
  • As always, the party in power is more optimistic.
